High School Workshop

The Modern Dance Faculty at the University of Utah School of Dance is excited to offer our Annual High School Dance Workshop. The workshop will feature an array of classes taught by the esteemed University of Utah Modern Dance Faculty and invited guests. High schools are invited to present a work from their school, not to exceed 5 minutes in lenght. If the high school will be presenting a work in the informal showings, please contact Sharee Lane at  by Monday, September 26th.

Workshop Overview:

Registration in foyer, 9:30–10:00am
Introduction, 10:00–10:15am
Modern Dance Technique, 10:20–11:20am
Improvisation/Composition, 11:25am–12:40pm
Lunch (PROVIDED), 12:45–1:15pm
Hip Hop, Afro-Caribbean Dance, Stretch & Body Work, 1:20–2:15pm
High School Informal Showing, 2:30–3:45pm

Teachers are welcome to take or observe any of the workshop classes and attend the PDC & High School Informal Showing. There will also be a 12:45–1:30pm lunch-time teacher forum designed to let teachers connect with other colleagues, springboard ideas, and discuss challenges and successes in their respective programs.
