The Utah Ballet Choreographic Institute will not occur Summer 2023. Please check back for information about Summer 2024. Information from Summer 2022 can be found below.
New for 2022 is the Ballet Choreographic Institute, which will run in conjunction with UBSI and will bring four professional choreographers, or Choreographic Fellows, to the University of Utah campus where they will have a chance to choreograph innovative works in pointe shoes.
The four Choreographic Fellows will each be awarded a 2-week residency, which includes travel, room, board, rehearsal space, time, and 8 to 10 previously-auditioned, advanced-level dancers to experiment and create a new work. It also includes a stipend of $2,000. Each 2-week residency will culminate in an informal showing which includes a professional recording of their work.
