Alexia Maikidou Poutrino is a Greek-Italian choreographer and dancer, a current MFA Modern Dance and Screendance Certificate candidate, and a Teaching Assistant at the University of Utah. Her research and choreographic interest focus on Dance Theater and Physical Theater and the choreographic possibilities of combining movement and spoken language. Alexia has a BA in dance and dance teaching from the Dance Academy Fyllis Mantziari and an integrated master’s degree from the Theatre Department, School of Fine Arts, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She is also pursuing the I-PATH Diploma in Choreography with Rick Tjia.

During her Master’s studies in Salt Lake City, she performed with the Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company and presented her choreographies in performances throughout the city.

While in Greece, Alexia was a founder and member of the Bloom Theatre Group and the Krama Project Dance Group. As a choreographer of the Bloom Theater Group, she presented her works to the audience of Thessaloniki while also participating in festivals of the city. Among the performances Alexia choreographed and performed with the Krama Project Dance Group, she won the third prize at the Euriasia Videodance Contest and had the opportunity to present a screendance piece in Greece, Austria, and Sweden.
