Summer Intensives with Red Clay Dance

Train in Chicago this Summer with Red Clay Dance!͏‌

We are Red Clay Dance, Chicago’s premiere Afro-Contemporary dance company that lives to awaken “glocal” Artivism through creating, performing, and teaching dances of the African Diaspora. Through our work, we amplify voices of the African Diaspora, seek remuneration equity for artists, support Black women, and create accessible excellence. We are also a welcoming home for professional dancers, dance lovers, and other artists to convene, create, and collaborate. As we aim to continue to cultivate the next generation of dancers, our organization would like to invite your students to participate in our Summer Intensive scheduled for July 22nd to July 27th, 2024.

Red Clay Dance’s Summer Intensive is an inclusive space that welcomes dancers of all backgrounds; exploring the theme “My Body, My Art, My Story”. This program is designed to empower dancers to embrace their bodies as instruments of artistic expression. Through a fusion of African Diasporic dance styles and personal narrative explorations, participants will discover how to weave their life stories into captivating dance performances. Our Summer Intensive is recommended for aspiring and professional dancers ages 18-30. While our intensive is not audition-based, there is an application process. We would appreciate you sharing this opportunity with your students; more information is available on our website here.

Red Clay Dance Company is a Black, female-led, 501(C)(3) for-purpose organization that awakens “glocal” change through creating, performing, and teaching dances of the African Diaspora. We transform cultural and socio-economic inequities in our local and global community and share stories we know to be true about who we are as a people as we strive to amplify voices of the African Diaspora, seek remuneration equity for artists, support Black women and create accessible excellence for our community.
