IOWA Department of Dance MFA Program

Dear Dance Colleagues,

We are announcing our new admission season for the MFA Dance program at University of Iowa!  Acceptance comes with full tuition remission and annual stipends up to $21,000.

At Iowa, we offer an abundance of performing and producing opportunities. Our MFA students are fully immersed in a program where they can produce their own work and perform in works created by others including fellow students, our faculty, and visiting artists. Our students learn from innovative, community-engaged, and supportive faculty, as well as in master classes with world-class guest artists frequently offered by the department--and they get the chance to perform masterworks alongside professional dance companies.

We offer a deeply creative and collaborative approach to dance, supported by a major research institution, in a fluid interdisciplinary environment. If you know a dancer who would flourish in this setting, please connect with us!

We have openings to start the program in Fall 2025. Applications will be handled on a rolling admission basis with an early round of interviews in January and another in March.

Will you please post and share our MFA recruitment flyer with your department, community, students, and alums?

Thank you for your consideration, and we look forward to hearing from you! Please visit our website for more info, and contact us with your questions and referrals:
