Ruger Memmott is a dancer and choreographer from Pleasant Grove, Utah. Coming from a cross disciplinary competition dance background, Ruger trained at Center Stage Performing Arts in Jazz, ballet, hip hop, and ballroom. His exposure to multiple styles of dance has prompted him to focus his choreographic research into fusion dance and the effects/possibilities found in mixing dance traditions and styles. After serving in the LDS Russia Moscow mission, Ruger returned to study at Brigham Young University where he received his undergraduate degrees in Russian and European Studies. His professional career has included dancing in feature films such as “Dear Dumb Diary” and on television such as “Dancing with the Stars”. He has appeared in various music videos and industrial work both nationally and internationally. Ruger has also choreographed for and danced with Utah’s Odyssey Dance Theatre for several seasons. Most recently, Ruger choreographed for Repertory Dance Theatre’s 2023 season as the winner of the previous years Regalia choreography fundraising competition.
