William Peterson is a production manager and lighting designer of live events and former technical director, stage manager, and lighting designer for Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company with whom he toured nationally and internationally. He has worked for California State University Summer Arts as the Production Stage Manager, at Weber State University as the Stage Operations Supervisor, at Salt Lake Acting Company as Master Electrician, and is an on-call Technical Director with Salt Lake County Arts and Culture. During COVID he worked for the Salt Lake County Health Department as the manager of a Quarantine and Isolation shelter.
William's primary background is in theatre lighting and stage management; however, from 2016 has shifted to lighting and stage management for dance with occasional returns back into the theatre world of lighting. He enjoys unique properties design/construction with integrated lighting elements, and general scenic construction. Elsewhere he has programmed and designed lighting and video installations for art galleries, theme parks, and live events.
He holds a BA in Theatre Arts – Design/Tech from Weber State University and received the Kennedy Center National Barbizon Award for Excellence in Lighting Design in 2016.
